Hit the Deck

The City of Edinburgh Council has been told, by Scottish Ministers, that it was/is unnecessary to require removal of raised timber decking from a garden in the City.  The Council served an Enforcement Notice requiring the removal of the decking, without having invited the owners to make a planning application, or negotiate.  The Reporter determining the appeal allowed the decking to remain provided it was was moved back from the boundary.  Pearson Planning, Chartered Surveyors represented the Appellant whom are pleased with the outcome.  The Enforcement Officer responsible for the Notice, no longer works for the Council.
