Live in the Country: Girl Allowed
Many women sing about the desire to build a house and live in the country: Sarah, Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine and Nicola, to name a few. In a recent case, Pearson Planning, Chartered Surveyors, represented another: Alison. The proposal involved demolishing three unsightly metal buildings (used for industrial purposes) and construct a two bedroom bungalow. Despite this being a brownfield opportunity with clear amenity and environmental benefits, the Planning Officer recommended refusal. She had also been adamant that the site flooded: dismissed following an Assessment. The matter was dealt with by Committee. Cross-party Councillors, who after hearing from Euan Pearson, did not accept the Officer’s conclusions, including statements made about unsustainable location, the site being 40m from a bus route. The proposal was allowed, subject to conditions and levying of infrastructure payments. The “Tangled Up” Planning Officer forgot that the Councillors “Call the Shots”. If you have a brownfield site in the British countryside: why not ask Pearson Planning, Chartered Surveyors for advice? They will do the best to help, that’s “The Promise”.
