Scottish Ministers Allow Outside Seating at Hotel
The Scottish Ministers has allowed appeals by Pearson Planning, Chartered Surveyors permitting outdoor seating in front of the Star & Garter Hotel in Linlithgow. The Hotel is listed and within a Conservation Area. Councillors had refused permission on the basis that the seating area would impede the passage of wheelchair users & people with buggies, along the High Street. Scottish Minsters allowed the appeal on the basis that the seating area would only have a width of 1m, leaving space for safe passage. The Client had previously been granted listed building/advertisement consent for three flagpoles in the curtilage of the Hotel by the Scottish Ministers.
